QDSTTM, rapid tuberculosis Drug Susceptibility Testing
QDST is a rapid, phenotypic drug susceptibility testing system for tuberculosis. The system provides susceptibility test results for 13 drugs, including first and second line agents, in just a week, which can allow laboratories to shorten turnaround time by 3 to 5 weeks compared to the conventional test methods.
- TB susceptibility results in 7 days
- Random access with 120 sample capacity
- Incubation for TB culture
- Fully automated optical imaging to monitor bacterial growth
- Algorithm based image analysis technology
- S/R results based on critical concentration
QuantaMatrix's microbial diagnostics solutions are the first to be developed in Korea and have received the highest honors including the New Excellent Technology (NET) certification and new medical technology certification.
TB drug susceptibility test results in a week
QDST provides results of drug susceptibility test for tuberculosis in just 7 days. Compared to conventional test methods, which takes 4 to 6 weeks, QDST dramatically reduces time to results.
- Culture on liquid media
- Culture on solid media

3 Levels of Safety
with Random Access
QDST Panel consists of 4 first line drugs and 9 second line drugs in 24 wells. Based on critical concentration, it is possible to provide susceptibility result for multidrug resistant (MDR) and extensively drug-resistant (XDR) tuberculosis.
|First line||Second line|
Since tuberculosis bacteria can be transmitted through the air, it is important for the user to conduct the test in a safe environment. QDST panel has a total of three levels of safety as shown below to prevent samples from leaking during the testing process.
Immobilizing tuberculosis bacteria in the agarose layer to suppress external leakage
Sealing with a panel sealer
to prevent leakage of sample
Panel cover with safety lock
Prepare mixture of cultured tuberculosis bacteria and agarose for immobilization.
Dispense mixture and media on QDST panel ccontaining preloaded and dried antibiotics.
Prepared panel is automatically loaded into 120 plate loaders in QDST.
Observation of bacterial growth and resistance to the drug within 7days through fully automated optical imaging.
Susceptibility results are reporting using proprietary algorithm and database based on critical concentration.
- Simple procedure Touchscreen with intuitive user interface
- Bi-directional LIS connectivity Compatible with all major LIS
- Minimal hands-on time S/R results based on critical concentration
